DATAPAC PROVIDES NEW MANAGED SOLUTION TO THE GAA FOR ENHANCED DELIVERY OF SERVICES

Datapac announces that it has implemented an integrated IT solution to support the roll-out of IT services to the GAA. As part of the overall solution provided by Datapac, it has installed new hardware and software to support the GAA’s ticketing solution.

Datapac will also manage the entire GAA server infrastructure at Croke Park, ensuring a highly robust business continuity plan for critical applications, including 24x7 monitoring of Servers and applications in the GAA offices.

The GAA manages a vast games programme that attracts the most players and the largest spectator attendances in Ireland. As part of the new contract, Datapac will play a key role as the GAA implements its comprehensive Strategic IT Policy to improve delivery and management of IT services at national, provincial and county levels.

A dedicated team of Datapac experts will remotely audit and monitor the GAA’s network, servers and PCs to ensure applications are running at optimum levels. This enables the GAA to improve the delivery of a wide range of services.

The GAA recently rolled-out numerous solutions to a “Cloud” environment for all staff and club officials to great success. It is now also looking at the possibility of moving further services and applications into “the cloud”.

As part of its current IT strategy, the GAA wants to focus on the fast and effective delivery of innovative new services and believes cloud computing can play an important role in this. Datapac is providing the GAA with best-practice advice in this area.
